Shirts for your Birthday

The other day Eric was home and got his ticket messed up and had to leave before he could get Noah's birthday present. So I took his money and ran.

The boys and I had lunch and spent most of the money on games, but with instructions to get a Threasher shirt I began shopping. How many stores around this town carry those zip. We were riding around Sunday and ended up at Calhoun Vanity Fair Store and this is a small North Georgia town. Not thinking of finding them, I started looking and lo and behold in this out of the way place, I found exactly what I was looking for. Only trouble I got the wrong size.

It is about 30 miles from where we live and so today I got to return it. The clerk was so rude I almost left it with her. I finally got it exchanged after the cash register would not work and the nice clerk kept working and calling on the intercom for help. We got the right size and on our way back I took a long way home. Ended up on ga hwy 140. It was the most beautiful fall colors I have seen in ages.

The road is narrow and off the beaten path. Mixed with the golds and reds and greens were small creeks or branches of water with the leaves slowly flowing down stream. It really made me feel a lot better.

So I get home and the boys are not in. The shirts are still in my possesion. Guess I will hear from them soon. In fact I may run away from home and go looking for more country roads I traveled on like today.

Some of these are reprints but I love them so I redid it.

Gary and Me

A few of my favorite photos of my favorite singer and me.

The scanner is the first time I have tried to use it without Eric looking over my shoulder. I also moved a lot of wires from the computer and am in the process of trying to figure out what goes where. I only ended up with 2 extra wires. I think one goes to the old printer and the other I am still looking for its location.

It has rained this past week and it has been like a sleeping pill. I think I lost about 2 days just could not stay awake. The leaves are great this year and I think I will pack up and go see a few tomorrow.

I am rambling on and on about nothing. so here are the pictures. Enjoy

Lambert 1976 to 1988

A cat like no other I have ever owned or been owned by. We found his mother when she adopted us when we lived in Tyson Estates and moved with us to Tonigh.

She was a very good mom and Lambert helped kitten sit the younger kittens as they came along. The neighbors cat was a bad mom and she took over for her, sometimes feeding as many as seven babies at once. With Lambert watching over the young while she ate and took a rest.

Lambert could cause road rage if he had been human. He could shot a bird with his tail and if a visitor caused him to be put outside he would let them know it was His house not theirs.

When we moved from Toonigh to the house we live in now I told him not to go out of the fenced yard because He did not know the neighborhood. So the next morning He was at the back of the fence on the outside just where I could see him and He let me know He was the boss.

I left the house one morning and heard this screeching of a cat being killed, but he was sitting looking like the cat that ate the canary. I looked at him and he moved enough to show me he was sitting on some stray cat that had come in his turf.

I miss him but Jonesy makes up for a lot, no one will ever believe the things that big boy did. He got sick and when I took him to the vet. They made the mistake of taking his tempature thru the back and when they left the room he hopped off the table and with a smirk on his yellow and white face must have left a puddle the size of 2 feet by 4 feet in the corner. Eric and I both were trying not to laugh when the vet came back in.

The stories go on and on. But sad to say the last illness took him and when he came back from the vet and was still sick I promised I would not take him back, they had not treated him well. The next day he kept near me and that night he disappeared. I found him and buried him in the back corner He had claimed as his in 1984.

With special love to my buddy and friend Lambert.

Dessert Time

In 1997 I was on the Jubliee and met a great serving crew. It included the tallest bus boy in any cruise I had ever gone one.

it also included lots of desserts. Each night the waiter gave me a sample of the desserts and on the Baked Alaska night I had my own.

The people at the next table were shocked when the desserts began showing up on my table and before the week was out they would want to know what choices we had that evening.

The lady at the table above was one of the guests of SeaTrek and we laughed so much at our table that she usually joined in the fun. We had a great time and you would not believe it but the ship was a perfect size for a group cruise. You could usually find most of the group in the lounge area or they found you.

The ship is now at the bottom of the sea being used as a man made reef somewhere in the Pacific Ocean.

Happy Birthday Allan

The guy who helped me out so much in the last few years has a birthday today, but had a great party yesterday. He had to be out of town on business and wanted to celebrate with all his family and friends.

Music, great food, as usual, and lots of people. He is one of the hardest working people I have every known. He has always been an active person and you should have seen him when he was young and riding mini bikes. Most moms would turn their heads and ask if they had landed ok. He loves life and his wife and children and son in law.

He is the one you go to when you need help and when you feel like nobody cares. The Head of the Clan. He owns several businesses and usually has a job for those in the family who want to work for him. He gives them the confidence to be their best and feel like life will go on.

Love you Allan.

Ps Eric is home and Miss Rose has him backed in a corner.
